Featured Recipe: Balsamic Roasted Pears

Balsamic Roasted Pears are a great alternative (or addition) to the traditional holiday table.  They can be sweet or savory depending on the toppings you choose.  Personally, I go for ALL the toppings. But any combination is equally delicious.

Enjoy! 🙂

4 Bosc pears
2 Tbsp butter
6 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
3/4 cup chopped walnuts, toasted (optional)
1/3 cup honey (optional)
1/3 cup goat cheese (optional)
fresh ground black pepper
Preheat oven to 400 degree and set the rack in the center of the oven.
Once hot, place the butter in a baking dish and melt in the oven.  Remove the baking dish from the oven and place pears in melted butter, cut side down.  The dish should be full with a single layer of pears.
Roast in oven for about 10 minutes.  Remove from oven and coat with balsamic vinegar and continue roasting for another 5 minutes.
Place roasted pears cut side up on a platter and drizzle with honey, cheese, walnuts (if using), and peppers.
